Plank floors bring a sense of calm and serenity to an interior. Their direction is often determined by the main flow of movement or the natural light within a space. Traditionally, planks are laid parallel to the longest wall, creating a balanced and harmonious appearance. In certain interiors, however, laying the floor at an angle can add a more dynamic character, naturally guiding the eye — and movement — around corners or towards adjoining spaces. WOODlife distinguishes three different plank patterns:
FIXED WIDTH

Planks in a fixed width is the most common floor pattern. It's praised for it's calm and serene impression.
MIXED WIDTH

Plank floors that contain multiple widths are considered to be more organic/natural, as trees generate a mix of plank widths. 'MIXED WIDTH' plank floors combine a certain nr. of widths which are installed in a repetitive form.
RANDOM WIDTH

Plank floors that contain multiple widths are considered to be more organic/natural, as trees generate a mix of plank widths. 'RANDOM WIDTH' plank floors combine a certain nr. of widths which are installed in random order.
